We are asking you to rise so others can be raised to life!

With every baptism of a new believer, we proclaim the following as they are lowered under the water: “Buried with Christ in baptism.” As they are lifted up out of the water, we victoriously shout: “Raised to walk in eternal life!” The reason we celebrate and are filled with joy at each baptism is because we believe, with our whole hearts, that the Gospel of Jesus changes everything. The Gospel of Jesus has the power to change every aspect of a person's life and bring forth the life God has for them.
We are about to embark on a 2-year journey together called Raised to Life. Together, as one church, we will see God use us to Raise new disciples, Raise new churches, and Raise new buildings. The last 3 years have been very difficult for local churches around our country. Churches are struggling and closing in every community. By God’s providence, our church has grown during this time. God has set before us a grand opportunity to make an eternal impact on tens of thousands of people today and tomorrow.
We encourage you to look at what the Lord is doing, pray about how you will be involved, and then take a big step of faith and watch the amazing things that God will do! So hop on, and buckle up! We believe that our best days are ahead of us and that God has a great plan for our Hills Family of Churches.
OUR HISTORY
30 years ago, Pastor Steve Davidson and his wife Shirley stood in front of their home church and announced that they would be planting a new kind of church in Clovis, California. Their church and denomination had asked them to consider planting a church in Clovis. At first, they declined the offer, being convinced that the city of Clovis already had an ample amount of great churches. Steve and Shirley proposed to the group that they would only be willing to plant a church if it was not a "traditional" church. This church would be aimed at people who didn’t like going to church. Steve and Shirley were convinced that the group urging them to plant would never sign off on such a crazy idea and they could go back to their everyday life. To their surprise, the churches and denominational entities all resoundingly agreed!
Leading up to the public launch of this church, hundreds of faithful believers made great sacrifices of time and money preparing and getting the word out that a new kind of church was starting, and on November 20th, 1991, Clovis Hills Community Church was born. One group of people personally called every number in the Clovis phone book and invited them to the first service. The church quickly began reaching a large number of unchurched people and people far from faith. Over the next 10 years, this little fledgling church grew and eventually secured 40 acres of land where our North Campus currently resides.
After 20 years of strong and steady leadership from Dr. Steve Davidson, he sensed it was time to find his successor to reach the next generation and take Clovis Hills into the future. In 2012, the church brought Pastor Shawn Beaty and his family from Oceanside, California to take the helm of leadership for the next several decades. During Dr. Shawn Beaty’s tenure, the church has experienced continued growth and now is a regional multisite church with 5 campuses called “The Hills Church.”
The blessing of 30 years of strong stable leadership has empowered the people of God to ‘go be the church’ rather than just attend. The result is the gospel being preached to tens of thousands of people and countless lives changed.
